Adopt a Music Creator (formerly Adopt A Composer) pairs member groups with music creators for one year of collaborative work to create a unique new piece. The music creator gets to know the performing group and writes a piece especially for them to premiere. The group contributes to the creation of a new work by UK composers. Pieces are usually around ten minutes long and are written to work around the group's existing repertoire and schedule. Funded by PRS Foundation, the Philip and Dorothy Green Trust, and Creative Scotland, and run by Making Music in association with Sound and Music and BBC Radio 3.
