Write Over Here: Indigenous Futurism Residency 2027

What it is

Indigenous Futurism Residency welcomes Indigenous screenwriters to work on adapting their work for screen in themes of futurism for film and television. The program includes an online preparatory week with intro sessions and script reviews, followed by on-campus weeks with faculty-led workshops on story, character development, and screenwriting techniques, peer collaboration, one-on-one consultations, studio access, and community engagement. Participants present work through screenings, table reads, and artist talks. Cross-disciplinary learning with concurrent Literary Arts and Visual Arts programs is encouraged.

Who it is for

Indigenous screenwriters at any stage of career who have written at least one script or have film/screenwriting education background, applying individually or with one collaborator (novelist, short story writer, or playwright), and must be 18 or older.
