What it is

Annual poetry prize established in 1998 recognizing one full-length collection of poetry per year. Open to poets at any stage of career writing in any style or form. Manuscripts must be between 50 and 100 pages, previously unpublished as a collection though individual poems may have been published separately.

Who it is for

Any poet writing in English who is at least 18 years old, at any stage of their career, excluding current and former students and faculty of Sam Houston State University and family members or students of the judge or TRP staff.

Open to artists anywhere.

$10,000 advance, publication with standard royalty contract, three-week residency at Vermont Studio Center in summer, and 10 copies of the published book.
