What it is

This floating residency takes place aboard a boat that is transient along the US east coast, with the vessel based in Baltimore from mid July through mid August. Artists work and create in a maritime setting, adapting their practice to life aboard a moving studio. Admissions are rolling, so applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Who it is for

Artists of any medium aged 21 and older from anywhere in the world who can physically reach the vessel and climb ladders, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.

What you get

Private bedroom in shared housing on a sailing vessel with complete living accommodations, private studio/shop space, some meals provided, and residency of 6 days to 2 months while the boat transits the US east coast.

What you need to apply

• Website (preferred) or portfolio of 10-20 images or up to 5 minutes of video or audio
• Brief statement of intent while aboard the vessel
• Artist statement (if not on website)

• Indicate three lengths of time available in order of preference
• Read, understand, and agree to 'Realities of Boat Life' (must sign)
• Disclose any physical limitations
